Tehachapi Fire – Destroys Over 40 Homes
At least 40 homes have been destroyed due to the massive Tehachapi fire in California.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has declared a state of emergency and fire officials are evacuating all residents in the area.
The Tehachapi fire began at around 3PM Tuesday. The Tehachapi community is about 70 miles north of Los Angeles, California.
While firefighters struggle to contain he fire it seems eminent that more homes will be destroyed as winds blow the fire further out.
Fortunately the Tehachapi community stays together and although a shelter has already been setup the President of the local homeowners association Merle Carnes said that they will be taking care of all the people who have suffered losses due to the Tehachapi fire.
Melissa Rycroft is Pregnant
Melissa Rycroft, former "Bachelor" contestant, is pregnant!
Melissa Rycroft married insurance agent Tye Strickland in December and now the newly weds are expecting their first child. Melissa commented, "It's the most wonderful surprise in the world. It's such a blessing."
Melissa Rycroft, 27 years old, used to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. She's appeared on "Bachelor", "Dancing with the Stars" and will soon co-host "Bachelor Pad" on ABC in August. Currently she is 6 months pregnant!
Melissa says that her husband Tye is very supportive and wanted kids right away. She's hoping for a boy while Tye is hoping for a girl. Currently they are living in their Dallas home. Congrats to them both for the good news!
Michigan Oil Spill Disaster
The Michigan oil spill is causing tons of oil to drift down the Kalamazoo river as an estimated 840,000 gallons have been leaked.
The wildlife is also suffering from this disaster as they are covered in the sticky oil and vets who can help are being searched.
The Michigan oil spill began when a pipeline began to leak in Marshall Township. The pipeline is owned by Enbridge Liquids Pipelines and is the largest oil transporter in western Canada. The pipeline has been shutdown and they are currently investigating what caused the leak.
To make things even worse, not only are the noxious fumes emitted from the river dangerous to one's health but Calhoun County Health Officer Jim Rutherford was concerned that this cuold be leaked into the water supply sooner or later.
Airbus 321 Crash in Pakistan – 152 Killed
An unfortunate disaster yesterday as a passenger Airbus 321 crashed in Pakistan killing the 152 passengers on board.
Airblue flight number ED202 crashed in Islamabad which is a forest area. Rescue teams are working hard to find survivors and bodies among the burning wreckage. It is reported that among the passengers where 2 U.S citizens.
The crash of the Airblue flight may have been due to the rainy weather and heavy clouds but nothing is confirmed yet, although terrorism is not suspected.
Our condolences go out to all the family and friends that have lost someone in this devastating crash in Paskistan.
Condoleezza Rice and Aretha Franklin in Philly Concert
An odd couple came together for a good cause at the Philadelphia Mann Music Center. Former U.S secretary of state Condoleezza Rice and Aretha Franklin performed together on stage.
Condoleezza Rice is a classically trained pianist, and together with Aretha Franklin the odd duet performed "I Say A Little Prayer" and "My Country 'Tis of Thee."
The concert was for a good cause as they where raising money to donate to programs that help inner city children and awareness programs for the arts as well.
Anna Fermanova (PHOTO) Sexy Russian Spy?
Anna Fermanova is accused of being a Russian spy, the 24 year old is a sexy beautician whom USA officials believe was trying to smuggle night vision scopes to Russia.
Anna Fermanova was living in Dallas, Texas and was arrested in March for "knowingly and intentionally" smuggling contraband weapons (night vision scopes) to Moscow. According to reports Federal agents found advanced rifle sights in her Ugg boots at JKF airport.
Oddly, Fermanova was allowed to travel to Moscow where she is an English teacher and lives with her husband. The feds arrested her when she returned to the U.S to visit relatives in Texas on July 15, 2010.
Currently the sexy Russian spy is under house arrest. Her lawyer says that Anna is sexy but not a spy. Is Anna Fermanova also a Russian spy as Anna Chapman was also accused? The only thing we are sure of is that Russia has very beautiful women!
ABC President Steve McPherson Resigns
Steve McPherson has been the president of ABC Entertainment since 2004 but today he resigned.
ABC, owned by Disney, released a statement saying that Steve McPherson has submitted his letter of resignation, here is the statement below.
"Steve McPherson today submitted his resignation as President, ABC Entertainment Group, and the Company accepted. Mr. McPherson said, "I want to thank the wonderful team of individuals who have worked with me throughout my time here and wish them nothing but the best." A replacement for Mr. McPherson will be announced shortly."
Recently rumors of McPherson and Anne Sweeny not getting along came about, which maybe the cause of his leave or not.
Who will be the new president of ABC Entertainment? Some say it may be Paul Lee who is president of ABC Family.
Jack Roush Survives Plane Crash (PHOTOS)
Jack Roush, NASCAR team owner, survived a plan crash and is in serious but stable condition.
Jack Roush was flying a twin-engine Beechcraft Premier jet that crashed while landing in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Roush was accompanied by Brenda Strickland who had non-life threatening injuries.
Roush was at the Wittman Regional Airport in Wisconsin for the Experimental Aircraft Association's annual AirVenture fly-in convention.
Adam Housley and Tamera Mowry Engaged (Again)
Actress and twin Tamera Mowry is engaged (again) to her Adam Housley.
Tamera is best remembered for the show "Sister Sister" where she and her twin acted in. Her boyfriend who is a Fox news correspondent recently proposed to her, again.
The couple where engaged before but broke things off and have been dating since then. Adam Housley popped the question again in Rome, Italy.
No news yet on wedding plans. Her twin sister Tia Mowry married actor Cory Hardict and they held their wedding in Santa Barbara, California at the Four Seasons Resort. However Tamera's family doesn't seem to happy about her relationship with Housley as they have been on and off.
New Oil Spill Found in Gulf
The BP oil spill has caused lots of damage to the Gulf of Mexico and now a new oil spill has been found near the Gulf.
While BP is still fixing the first oil spill in the Gulf and now a new leak has been found.
The new oil spill has been located 10 miles south of Lafitte, Louisiana. According to reports a vessel hit the well causing it to emit the natural gas and oil.
Fortunately it is said that this new oil spill isn't expected to be as big as a problem as the BP oil spill.
