Nicole Bobek Gets Probation for Drug Charges
Today former U.S figure skating champion Nicole Bobek was sentenced to 5 years of probation after pleading guilty to drug charges.
Nicole Bobek, 38, was found to be part of a methamphetamine ring in New Jersey. She pleaded guilty to having sold crystal meth. However today she is thinking positively of her probation sentence.
After her court ruling Bobek said, "Nothing but positive things can come out of this. It's been a long 1 1/2 years. I'm looking to get back onto that ice."
In addition Bobek must also serve 250 hours of community service and pay a $2,500 fine, and additional court expenses.
Bobek had a rough time growing up as figure skating was always part of her life since she was 3 years old. Although she won a title in 95' in the 98' Olympics she came in at 17th place which affected her greatly psychologically and in the end led her into the drug world.
Rooney Mara in “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”
Sony Pictures Entertainment and director David Fincher have been searching high and low for the right actress to play Lisbeth Salander in "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and finally they've given the lead paper to Rooney Mara.
"The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" will also be starring Daniel Craig. The movie is set to begin filming in Sweden during the fall and will hit theaters on December 21, 2011.
Rooney Mara has signed a deal that gives her the option to participate in the next sequels called The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest. All these movies are based on a trilogy by Steig Larsson.
Dashawn Longfellow Murdered by Kickboxer
Dashawn Longfellow, former U.S Marine, traveled to Thailand to learn Muay Thai, but his vacations ended quickly after British kick boxer Lee Aldhouse reportedly stabbed him several times and left him dead.
Police are now in search of Lee Aldhouse who they believe followed Longfellow to his hotel room and ambushed him when he was leaving his hotel room.
Witnesses also reported that Aldhouse and Longfellow had a bar fight which Longfellow was winning.
Aldhouse is known for bragging about being invincible but Longfellow was winning the bar fight but he didn't finish as they where later separated.
Later Aldhouse took the low road and decided to settle things unfairly by stabbing Longfellow several times and killing him. Longfellow was with his girlfriend, Oi. He rushed her into the room to protect her from danger, but when police come it was too late.

Sara Rue recently accepted the task of being a Jenny Craig spokeswoman in December and since then she has shed off 50 pounds with the program.
Sara Rue says that aside from eating portioned meals, she also does 45-60 minutes of cardio at least 5-6 days during the week.
Now Rue who used to wear size 14 is down to a size 6 and she couldn't be happier because she is also planning to get married in Spring! Congrats to Rue on her impressive weight loss!
Craigslist Killer Dies – Commits Suicide in Jail
Yesterday we reported on the suicide of Philip Markoff, also known as the "Craiglist Killer". (Craiglist Killer Dies)
Today more news comes in on what seems to be an apparent suicide. Markoff was found with a plastic bag tied over his head. However an investigation is underway as well as an autopsy.
Philip Markoff was awaiting his trial for the murder of model Julissa Brisman in 2009, he also faced robbery charges which seem to also have been women that he found via Criagslist.
As the investigation is ongoing, the authority is wondering how Markoff was able to sneak in a plastic bag. There are no more details for now as officials cannot talk to reporters during the investigation.
What is Grounding a Club?
After the Dustin Johnson Bunker penalty, many are wondering, what is grounding a club?
Johnson's error was grounding his club on a bunker. Grounding is when you place your club on the ground BEFORE swinging. Now before you get more confused, this IS allowed but on safe areas such as at the tee, on the fairways or even on the rough.
Grounding is NOT allowed on sand or bunkers. So why did a pro golfer like Dustin Johnson get confused? In Johnson's case, he believed that the bunker area was a dirt area that had been created by the spectators who where moving around.

The basic rules of golf prohibit you from grounding your club in a bunker, however Johnson said that he didn't realized he had gone over a bunker.
What is grounding? Grounding is when your golf club touches the ground BEFORE you swing, this is allowed in areas such as the fairway, tee and even the rough but on areas like sand it is not allowed.
Unfortunately for Johnson, Whistling Straits is knowing for having over 1,200 of these and it can even fool a pro golfer. After receiving the penalty Johnson said, “I just thought it was on a piece of dirt where the crowd had trampled [everything] down.”
However he was given a 2-stroke penalty which brought him down to 5th place. Despite Dustin Johnson being ahead of Bubba Watson and Martin Kaymar, his error caused him to be bumped down to 5th place.
Dell Buys 3Par for $1.15 Billion
This morning Dell announced that it would be buying the data storage company 3PAR for $1.15 billion.
Dell is looking to diversify in the market and not just be a brand known for their PC's. Last year Dell also bought Perot Systems and said that they would be making more deals, which they have today.
However many believe that Dell has overpaid 3Par who hasn't traded above $13.67 this year. Dell could have made the buy at $14 but instead paid $18 making it the total agreement at $1.15 billion.

Hillary Duff and hockey player Mike Comrie have said "I Do" at the San Ysidro Ranch this weekend. To plan for the wedding they hired celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss.
Duff had her wedding dress designed by Vera Wang who has also been the designer for recent weddings such as the Hillary Clinton wedding. But Hilary Duff also made sure that her wedding was in the evening to avoid flying paparazzi, for now there are only some blurry photos available.

Thousands of fans where eager to find out today who was the winner of Indian Idol 5? The show is of course based on the American Idol show in the U.S except this is in India.
The majorities favorite was Bhoomi but in the end the winner resulted to be: Sreeram!
The Indian Idol 5 winner is Sreerm. On the other hand, votes online showed that Rakesh was the least favorite.
