Garmin Nuvi Recall UPDATE

Yesterday we reported about the Garmin Recall of their Nuvi GPS device.

The recall of the Nuvi personal GPS navigation device is a volantary recall from Garmin who realized that the battery that comes with the device, which was made by a third-party, could over heat and catch on fire.

Google Voice vs Skype

So Google wants everyone to get addicted to "Google Voice", their new feature that allows users to call US & Canada numbers free and international at a low price per minute rate. They're even thinking of installing it in phone booths!

So what is the difference with Google Voice and Skype? Well, Skype has been around for a while now, they also offer free Skype to Skype calling and for just around $2 you can have free calls to the US & Canada as well.

As far as features, I would say Skype has a bit more too offer, but I'd like to know what the readers think, have you tried out Google Voice? Which do you prefer? Skype or Google Voice?

Montana Fishburne on Playboy? True or False?

Montana Fishburne, 19 year old daughter of actor Laurence Fishburne, recently announced her passion for making adult films. Now there are rumors that she's done a photo shoot with the king of porn, Playboy.

However according to postchronicle.com, these photos are not recent. The claim that Montana posed for Playboy a while ago and they've only leaked on the internet recently.

The photos are of a test shoot she did for Playboy magazine, but it seems that she didn't make the cut back then.

Will playboy reconsider now maybe in doing a photo shoot with Montana Fishburne, aka Chippy D?

GPS Garmin Recall – Details

Garmin announced today that it is recalling nearly 1.25 million Nuvi personal GPS navigation devices. The recall is due to a fire hazard, the device can overheat and catch on fire.

Of the 1.25 million Nuvi personal GPS navigation devices, the amount sold in the U.S are approximately 796,000 units. The fire hazard is due to a faulty battery which was made by a third-party supplier. The battery can overheat and catch on fire.

Garmin said that it has only received 10 reported cases but there wasn't any major damage involved.

You can also go the Garmin website where you can easily plug in your products serial number and see if it is affected by the recall.

Ken Mehlman Came Out of the Closet!

Former RNC chairman Ken Mehlman recently admitted that he was gay.

Mehlman headed the Republican National Committee from 2005 to 2007.

He recently opened up about his sexual preference in an interview with Atlantic's Marc Ambinder.

"It's taken me 43 years to get comfortable with this part of my life. Everybody has their own path to travel, their own journey, and for me, over the past few months, I've told my family, friends, former colleagues, and current colleagues, and they've been wonderful and supportive. The process has been something that's made me a happier and better person. It's something I wish I had done years ago."

Mehlman says that now he wants to become an advocate for gay marriage.

Micheal Enright Stabbed Muslim Cab Driver

Earlier today news came in that a Muslim cab driver had been stabbed in NYC. The attacker was Michael Enright, 21, a film student and volunteer in Afghanistan.

Michael Enright and Ahmed H. Sharif, 23, began to argue over the creations of the Mosque near ground zero. Things got heated and Enright ended up stabbing Sharif several times.

Enright fled the scene but police caught him and he is now being charged with attempted murder as a hate crime.

As for the Muslim cab driver he said, "I have been here more than 25 years. I have been driving a taxi more than 15 years. All my four kids were born here. I never feel this hopeless and insecure before."

Remembering Aaliyah – 9 Years Since Her Death

On August 25th, 2010 the music world received devastating news that singer Aaliyah, 22 years old, had died in a plane crash.

Aaliyah had been in the Bermuda's filming her latest music video and was returning along with 8 other passengers on the small Cessna plane. The plane crashed after take off killing everyone on board.

Aaliyah was only at the beginning of her successful music career and many where shocked to see such as talented young women die at a very young age.

RIP Aaliyah.

UPDATE: Hurricane Danielle Path 2010

Hurricane Daniella became stronger this Wednesday morning as it moves across the Atlantic.

According tot he National Hurricane Center, the 2010 Hurricane Daniella went from 75 mph to 85 mph winds. Currently it is headed north-west at around 17 mph. It is now a Category 1 hurricane.

It is expected that the hurricane will continue to gain strength and that it will reach Bermuda by Monday.

Erica Blasberg Death Ruled a Suicide

Pro golfer Erica Blasberg's death has been ruled as a suicide today.

LPGA golfer Erica Blasberg, 25, was found dead in her home on May 9th with a plastic bag over her head.

The coroner's office also agreed that Blasberg died of self-forced asphyxia. They also found several prescription medications in her system.

Dr. Thomas Hess is responsible for discovering Blasberg's body and he is also facing obstruction charges after he admitted to removing the suicide note found on scene.
