Gilenya Approved by USDA
Gilenya has been approved by the USDA (U.S Food and Drug Administration). The drug helps reduce relapses and delay disability progression in users who have relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis.

This is the first oral drug for multiple sclerosis. It is among a new class of drugs that work to block specific blood cells int he lymph nodes which in turn delays cells that go towards the brain and spinal cord.
Gilenya does have side effects as all drugs. The most reporter are headache, flu, diarrhea, back pain, cough and elevated enzymes of the liver. In worst cases it can decrease heart rate, cause a great infection or macular edema of the eye.
Patients who are considering using Gilenya must use it under strict monitoring of a medical professional.
