Tiki Barber Compares Himself to Anne Frank

Tiki Barber, former New York Giants running back, recently offended many people after comparing himself to Anne Frank.

Tiki Barber was trying to explain to Sports Illustrated why he moved into the attic of his agents house, Mark Lepselter, (after divorcing his pregnant wife to be with a 23 year old girlfriend) and of course he had no better way to explain this than saying:

"Lep's Jewish. And it was like a reverse Anne Frank thing."

Of course his new roomate and agent Mark Lepselter came to Barber's defense saying:

"In a world where nothing surprises me, where things get completely blown out of proportion, this only adds to the list. All Tiki was saying to Jon was he was shedding light on going back to that time when he was literally trapped, so to speak, in my attic for a week. Nothing more, nothing less. Let me remind all those who want to make this more than it is: Tiki was a guest of (president) Shimon Peres in Israel five years ago."

Abraham H. Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League is not please with Tiki Barber's analogy to Anne Frank:

"Holocaust trivialization continues to spread and finds new ways and expressions that shock the conscience. Tiki Barber's personal behavior is his business. But our history and experiences are ours and deserve greater respect than being abused or perverted by Tiki Barber. The analogy to Anne Frank is not funny, it is outrageous and perverse. Anne Frank was not hiding voluntarily. Before she perished at age 15 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, she hid from the Nazis for more than two years, fearing every day for her life. The Frank family's experiences, as recorded in Anne's dairy, are a unique testimonial to the horrors of the Holocaust, and her life should never be debased or degraded by insensitive and offensive analogies."

Tiki Barber recently announced that he will be coming back to the NFL after having retired in 2006. Will you be rooting for Tiki Barber?

  1. that arrogant fame wh*re get a life you look bad enough for leaving your pregnant wife… then you compare yourself to anne frank… who had no food or anything… your sitting there spending your millions… probably billions… and comparing yourself to a person who lived for 3 years with barley anything… really similar. Anne Frank was a strong person, who should be respected and your comparing yourself to her… that just another bad mark on his already bad reputation… ps the giants are doing SOOOOOOOO much better without YOU!
