Human Centipede II Banned in UK

This is the first film that has been absolutely prohibited since 2009. The BBFC has banned only 11 films in its history of 99 years.
The BBFC said about the recent ban : "The Board also seeks to avoid classifying material that may be in breach of the Obscene Publications Acts 1959 and 1964 (OPA) or any other relevant legislation". The OPA prohibits the works of content that might significantly harm or corrupt those who see it.
BBFC’s ruling: “ Whereas in the first film the ‘centipede’ idea is presented as a revolting medical experiment, with the focus on whether the victims will be able to escape, this sequel presents the ‘centipede’ idea as the object of the protagonist’s depraved sexual fantasy.”
A spokesman from Eureka Entertainment in the UK said: " The company was surprised " by the ruling. The movie was recently released in Australia and uncensored. Eureka Entertainment will have 6 weeks to appeal to the Video Appeals Committee.
