Maurice Sendak to Publish New Book After 30 Years
The famous author Maurice Sendak will be publishing a new book after 30 years. His last book was published in 1981. Sendak's new book will be available in September thanks to Harper Collins. Sendak will be turning 83 this month of June.
His new book will be titled "Bumble-Ardy". In the beginning of the 1970's, Bumble Ardy was a segmant on Sesame Street.
Some of Sendak's most popular books include "Chicken Soup with Rice", "Pierre", "Outside Over There" and the well known book "Where the Wild Things Are" that was recently made into a movie.

No Pants Subway Ride 2011 Was a Success!
If you where on the New York subway on Sunday and saw someone without pants out, then you witness the No Pants Subway Ride 2011.
This year was the 10th annual No Pants Subway Ride which was started by Improv Everywhere. An estimted 3,500 people participated today. Despite the chilly weather participants rode the subway in just their underwear!
Participants had to follow two simple rules:
1. Be willing to take your pants off while riding the subway.
2. Be able to keep a straight face while riding sans pants.
Silvie Cachay Identified as Soho House Victim
The Soho House victim was identified as Sylvie Cachay, a fashion designer based in Manhattan.
Sylvie Cachay was found dead on today in a bathtub after neighbors complained about an overflowing tub in the room above them.
Investigators believed her death was due to an overdose but are now considering strangling as they found bruises on her neck. Police are also questioning her boyfriend Nicholas Brook, son of Joseph Brooks, and according to reports their relationship was not entirely peaceful.

Columbus Day Parade NYC 2010
The Columbus Day Parade NYC 2010 starts today here are the details!
The parade will start at 11:30 AM and will run along 5th Avenue from 47th Street to 72nd Street.
The Grand Marshall this year is financial reporter Maria Bartiromo from Brooklyn.
Thousands will be gathering today in NYC to see the parade. Be sure to plan ahead and go early so you can get a great view!
Peruvian Auther Mario Vargas Llosa Wins Nobe Prize
The Swedish Academy awarded Peruvian author Mario Vargas Llosa with the Nobel Prize in literature today.
The academy stated that the Literature Nobel Prize was award to Llosa because of "his cartography of structures of power and his trenchant images of the individuals resistance, revolt, and defeat."
Mario Vargas Llosa, 74, said he wasn't expecting the award but it is a pleasant surprise.
Currently Mario Vargas Llosa is teaching two courses in Princeton University. Some of his well known novels are "The Green House" and "The War of the End of the World".
Ty Smalley’s Father Fights to Stop Bullying
Kirk Smally had to go through the worst pain a parent can feel, losing a child. His son Ty Smalley, 11, committed suicide after being bullied at his middle school. Now Kirk Smally vows to help stop school bullying.
Smally said that fighting against bullying is important to him because it is also a promise he made to his son, "I promised my son that I'd stop this from happening to another child."
Naturally, Kirk feels guilty for the loss of his son. He said, "Ultimately, my son's safety rested in my hands. I was responsible for my son's safety," he said, fighting back tears. "I'm his dad … it's my job to protect him."
According to Smalley, bullying should be treated as a crime. Currently each school treats bullying differently and have their own rules or way to go about the situation.
Smally went on to say, "We haven't done Ty's last load of laundry, because it still smells like him. We haven't washed his sheets because I can go in there and lay on his bed and still smell my boy," Smalley said. "You want to learn what bullying and suicide is all about, you talk to the people directly who it affects the most."
Bishop Eddie Long Accused of Sexual Misconduct
Pastor Bishop Eddie Long is being accused of sexual misconduct after two lawsuit have been filed against him.
Eddie Long is part of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Two men at his church claim that he has been using his status to lure men into engaging in sexual relationships with him. The two men are Anthony Flagg, 21, and Maurice Robinson, 20.
According to ClutchMagOnline:
Flagg alleges that he and Long shared a bed at various hotels during several trips paid for by the church. In addition, Flagg was on the New Birth payroll and was given a Mustang convertible for his personal use. Robinson had similar allegations and claims that Long engaged in sexual relations with him during a trip to Auckland, New Zealand. In addition to receiving a Malibu car for his use, Robinson’s tuition at an area college was also paid. Long reportedly referred to such men as his “spiritual sons” and even conducted a candlelit ceremony to seal that covenant.
Of course, Long's defense says that the lawsuit are just an attempt to "shakedown for money" and that their stories are not credible. Eddie Long is known for speaking out on his opposition of homosexuals and is well known in the Christian scene.

Mormon Bishop Shot and Killed
Mormon Bishop Clay Sannar was shot and killed in Visalia, California on Sunday.
Bishop Clay Sannar, 42, was shot at the Visalia's Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Police acted quickly and moments later they intercepted the gunman and after a gunfight the suspect was killed.
Police say that the Church members did not recognize the gunman as a member of the Church. Police are now investigating why Morman Bishop Clay Sannar was killed.
Clay Sannar had recently assumed the position of Bishop at the Visalia church only a few month ago and was the father of 6 children. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
Who Won Miss Universe 2010?
The final two contestants where Miss Jamaica and Miss Mexico... but who won Miss Universe 2010?
This year the winner was Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete! Beginning with 83 contestants, the final 5 ladies remaining where, in order of final placing:
4th place: Miss Philippines
3rd place: Miss Urkraine
2nd place: Miss Australia
1st place: Miss Jamaica
And of course the WINNER of Miss Universe 2010 is Jimena Navarrete of Mexico. Thousands cheered as Miss Mexico was given the crown, but that's not all she's getting.
Jimena Navarrete will also be receiving a salary of an undisclosed amount, a luxury apartment in NYC, the diamond encrusted crown, years worth of clothing, jewelery, hair care, makeup and shoes and also a scholarship for the New York Film Academy.
When is was Miss Mexico's turn to answer a question, she was asked if kids should be allowed to use the internet without supervision to which she answered that the internet is an indispensable tool of our time.
Jimena Navarrete is 22 years old and from Guadalajara, Mexico. She is crowned Miss Universe 2010 for the 59th annual beauty pageant.
